Lodge Enamel cookware is handcrafted from molten iron in individual sand molds to eliminate rough edges for a smooth surface. Four layers of strong, chip-resistant, enamel is hand-applied and baked onto each piece of cast iron.  Enamel coating eliminates the need to season the cast iron.  Enamel cookware can be used with electric, gas, induction cook tops, or conventional ovens.
